This year, the Festival Jazz à La Sout will evolve in two stages: in addition to the 25th edition of the autumn festival which will take place from October 20 to November 5, MeM will propose the 1st edition of the JALS summer festival which will take place July 16-22.

While the autumn edition will retain its classic form and will offer concerts, with the traditional headliners, in the large halls of the department, the summer edition will make use of the converted stage truck acquired by the association in 2021.

This new action, with this concept of itinerant festival in rural areas, will allow our structure to reach an even wider audience, particularly distant from Culture for social, geographical or cultural reasons, thus strengthening the territorial network in terms of access to culture and promote cultural tourism in our department.

Swingin' Bayonne
Affiche S'B & Philippe Chagne

The Swingin' Bayonne, born in 2015, is made up of three long-time friends:
Arnaud Labastie on piano, Patrick Quillart on double bass, and Jean Duverdier on drums.

Influenced by the great trios, particularly those of Gene Harris, Monty Alexander and Benny Green, the Swingin' Bayonne performs regularly in France in clubs (in Paris, Chez Papa and at the Caveau de la Huchette) but also in many festivals.

The trio regularly transforms into a quartet or even a quintet, inviting the best representatives of French Jazz Swing to join them (Philippe Chagne, Dany Doriz, Claude Braud, Aurore Voilqué, Pierre-Louis Cas, Daniel Huck, Malo Mazurié, Christophe Davot, Patrick Bacqueville, etc.), even international (Nick Hempton, Hetty Kate, Dave Blenkhorn, George Washingmachine, Tina May…).

The only ambition of each of the members of Swingin' Bayonne is to communicate the pleasure of playing the music they love, faithful to the tradition of swinging jazz, the one that invites you to dance.

With Philippe Chagne (saxophone), Arnaud Labastie (piano), Patrick Quillart (double bass), Jean Duverdier (drums)

“Best singer of the year” in 2010, 2011 & 2012 at the Big Easy Music Awards (New Orleans), Meschiya Lake is a reference singer in New Orleans where she performs throughout the year, notably at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

She played everywhere in the USA, in Canada, in Brazil, as well as in Europe where she made some festivals in Scotland, in Denmark, in the Netherlands, in Germany, in Spain... But only once in France !

It's time to discover on stage her tone of voice and her presence which make her a new star in power of New Orleans jazz.
